birth photography - starting at $775
With my first son, I went into labor during my maternity session. Originally I wasn't planning to have my birth photographed. (I didn't even know that was a thing people did!) But the photographer offered and I went with it. To this day I am so happy the emotions of that day (the strength, raw joy, intensity, euphoria) were captured. If your curious or want to learn more please reach out!
- Photojournalistic coverage of pre-labor, labor & delivery in the hospital, at home or at a birth center
- Photos during those first breaths of life
- 150+ digital images delivered 3 weeks (more often less than) after delivery
frequently asked questions
general photography // q+a
Are you available for travel? Of course! Travel expenses will be added to session cost.
When should I have my maternity photos taken? Anytime after 33 weeks I think is best.
Where should I print my photos? I recommend printing directly from the client gallery. This will be the highest quality.
Will you be doing another "Ma Dreams" project, if so how can I be a part? I hope to do more projects like MD but at the moment extra projects are on hold. Inquire and let me know you'd like to be part of my next series.
Do you photography other events such as a first birthday parties, bridal showers, bat mitzvahs, etc? Yes! Just send me a message and we can talk more about what you're looking for and pricing.
birth photography // q+a
What will it be like to have a birth photographer? My hope is that you might not even notice I'm there capturing this beautiful day. I will say this again and again, your comfort is priority. I will step out at times to give you space and feel free to kick me out! Every birth is different, my goal is to be calm and flexible throughout the birthing process.
When should I hire a birth photographer? I only book two, on occasion three, births per month. (I want to make sure no deliveries overlap!) This causes my calendar to fill quickly! If you know you want a birth photographer I'd recommend going ahead and contacting me as soon as you have a guess date. In the event I do not have any openings I can direct you to other birth photographers in town.
Will you use flash and artificial lights? I use as much natural and available light as much as possible. I try and stay away from flash as much as I can because I know it can be distracting. That being said, births that happen at night do need some flash to capture key moments. Your comfort is my top priority so if in any case you feel uncomfortable I will put the flash away.
Will you share my birth on your website? Birth is extremely personal and intimate. I love sharing birth photos and stories but I want to respect what you're comfortable with and will not post unless I have your OK. (We can also revisit your day later if you want a platform to share your birth experience!)
